Today I’m looking ahead to something I’m genuinely excited about.
On 19th September, I’ll be at Kyleside Woolfest in Ardgay Hall, surrounded by people who care deeply about Scottish wool and where it’s headed.
I’ll be giving a talk about the full circle fibre ethos behind Highland Magic Fibre Arts. From standing in muddy fields choosing fleeces, to working with shepherds, mills, artists and makers, every project I create asks the same question:
How do we build a Scottish wool industry where more value stays in Scotland?
I’ll be sharing the journey behind my yarns, my weaving and tapestry work, and some of the bigger ideas I’m exploring, including local processing, collaboration, and reconnecting people with the landscapes their fibre comes from.
I’ll also have a small selection of artwork and Highland Magic yarn available throughout the day if you’d like to see (and squish!) them in person.
What I love most about events like this isn’t just selling yarn or giving a talk. It’s the conversations that happen afterwards. Every chat with a spinner, shepherd, knitter, weaver or curious visitor adds another thread to something much bigger than any one business.
