Yarn

Scottish yarn, dyed naturally
Highland Magic yarn begins with wool, place and process. I make small-batch hand-dyed and handspun yarns with a focus on Scottish provenance, natural colour and expressive palettes.
Find Highland Magic yarn
Caledonian Wool Co. is the main home for Highland Magic yarn, including the Caledonia range and naturally dyed British wool yarns. You can also find a smaller selection at Drum Farm Gallery, with seasonal yarn at Made in Stirling and Robertson’s Farm Shop.
For the most current availability, including occasional yarn held in my own studio stock, please join my email list.
Caledonia
Caledonia is grown, washed, blended, spun and dyed in Scotland: a full-provenance yarn made entirely within the country. It is generally available by preorder, through Caledonian Wool Co.; occasional studio stock may be announced through my email list.
Naturally dyed British wool
A changing collection of naturally dyed British yarns, including Shetland, Cheviot and Bluefaced Leicester. These are dyed in small, non-repeatable batches, so each palette has its own particular character.
Commission a yarn palette
I take on selected commissions for bespoke dyed yarn collections. We work from a palette, material qualities and intended use rather than a fixed, repeatable dye lot.
Custom-spun yarn
I can work with clean or scoured wool for hand dyeing, blending and spinning. I also occasionally take on a special single fleece for full hand processing, from fleece to finished yarn.
